This unit is used to control the engine rpm
of buses and trucks running on CNG (Compressed
Natural Gas). The speed input of the vehicle
is taken from the trigger box (used to control the engine timing
and firing) or the alternator. As soon as the engine
rpm exceeds a pre-set level, this unit actuates
(cut off point) a solenoid valve, which bypasses
the CNG to the main tank, and the engine
rpm starts falling down. The engine rpm is
allowed to fall to another pre-set level
(cut in point) and the solenoid gets switched
off and the CNG is allowed to enter the cylinder
and the normal operation of the engine continues.
In this manner the engine rpm does not ever
cross the safe working level.
